One Hull of a Sailing Story

For years, Michael Pouliotte had been dreaming of constructing a 40-foot wooden boat hull. In 1976, he was able to make his dream a reality at an old dairy farm in Portsmouth. He sold the boat to support his family, but he never forgot about it. He followed its travels from a distance and often wondered if he would ever see it again. Pouliotte was only 18 when he built the hull, and he was taught by the renowned boat builder, Bud McIntosh. The two were even featured on a 60 Minutes program about master craftsmen and their students.
