.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...
Light and gentle breezes will continue over the northeast Gulf through
Thursday morning. The correspondingly tame surf will keep the rip
current risk moderate. Westerly breezes will increase late Thursday,
becoming fresh or strong on Friday. This will kick up surf and bring a
high risk of rip currents, most prominently to Bay and Gulf County
beaches with their western exposure. Behind a cold front on Friday
evening, winds on Saturday will become northwesterly or northerly.
Even with offshore winds on Saturday morning, enough surf will linger
along Bay and Gulf County beaches for a continued high risk of rip
currents.
Based on communication with area beach officials, the following flags
are flying at area beaches:
