Water Roadster
Malibu takes an iconic sports car and transforms it into the coolest boat you've ever seen — the Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V.
The Corvette. It's arguably the coolest American car ever. And only in America will you find
enterprising and innovative minds that can take such a great idea and find a way to make it even
better. That's just what Malibu has done.
Since the summer of 1953, discerning motorists have recognized that the Corvette is something
special ... an iconic sports car if ever there was one. So when Malibu got the green light from
Detroit to create an on-the-water version that captured the very essence of its corner-hugging
cousin, it wasn't a task to be undertaken lightly. The result is, simply put, the coolest boat
that's ever graced fresh water. The Corvette Limited Edition Sport V is designed to inspire, awe
and perform just like the four-wheeler on a V-hull.
The first thing that grabs you is, of course, the styling, from the signature Corvette "Cove"
tooled into the hull, to the authentic Corvette emblems, to the power wing windshield, to the rear
taillight design used for through-hull ventilation, down to the authentic Corvette rims on the
custom Corvette trailer.
Hop inside, and you'll be mesmerized by the authentic Corvette seats and dashboard
instrumentation. Malibu engineers paid homage to the thrill of the open road by incorporating
windows that roll down into the power-wing windshield. What's under the hood? The Corvette-styled
closed bow becomes impressively functional as the bow hood opens to reveal LED lighting, a
high-powered stereo system with dual subwoofers and well-placed storage.
What has always separated the Corvette from the rest of the pack, however, has been the power
plant. In this respect, the boat is no different. There are two different versions of the Sport-V,
the Coupe and the Z06. The Coupe isn't lacking in anything, with 400 hp from its own V8, but the
Z06 is just that much more over-the-top. There's not only 105 more horsepower on tap, but it also
includes a clear Lexan engine hatch to show off the LS7. This is one sequel that stands up to the
classic original. God bless America.
