Chick-Fil-A Founder Helps Regal Marine Celebrate Awards

by Jennifer Dennard

The J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Boat Competitive Information Study has, for the second year in a row, recognized Regal Marine with “Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Small Runabouts (16-19 feet) and Express Cruisers (24-33 feet)” awards. The company ranked second in the Large Runabout segment.

The family-owned performance boat manufacturer became the first boat company to receive awards in two segments last year. It has received a total of five awards in the last three years.

The company attributes the honors to investment made in ISO 9001:2000 certification, new technologies, internal quality auditing, and linking employees’ variable compensation to customer satisfaction scores.

To help Regal celebrate the honors, an awards celebration was recently held at company headquarters in Orlando. Six hundred guests had the opportunity to hear S. Truett Cathy, founder of the Chick-Fil-A restaurant chain — also family owned and operated — share his thoughts on how to succeed in business.
