Banging shins, hard slips and harder-to-get grips are all commonplace for swimming-ladder follies. Garelick tried a new approach for a boarding solution with the Gull Wing Step boarding ladder. It offers easy boarding with reinforced nylon curved surface steps that make getting on and off the boat convenient for swimmers, or divers loaded with gear. Storage just means folding the parallel design, which can fit in modest-sized lockers. Prices start at $347 for a three-step model.
